Alan Shearer has now given his prediction for when Wolves play Fulham

Wolves and Fulham are heading into Saturday’s clash with both sides out of form, and Alan Shearer is sure just one team will come out on top.

It is perhaps a surprise relegation clash with Fulham lingering over the bottom three in 17th place. They are six points above the Old Gold.

Wolves’ record against Fulham is excellent, but that will not aid them in the current form they are in.

Vitor Pereira has hit back at criticism and pointed out the reactive nature of football ahead of this weekend.

However, with Wolves winless in nine, the reaction from fans for Pereira to be sacked is far from reactive.

The Portuguese head coach’s job is no doubt on the line, and Alan Shearer has given his thoughts on whether or not he can finally pick up all three points.

Alan Shearer predicts Fulham vs Wolves

The importance of Saturday’s game cannot be overstated, and anything but a win in Alan Shearer’s eyes would be too much for Wolves to crawl back from.

Shearer was left baffled by their tactics against Chelsea, and they’ll hope that they can keep a more structured and organised backline against the Cottagers.

Writing on his weekly predictions column for Metro, Shearer has not been kind to the Old Gold ahead of the weekend and expects Fulham to win.

Shearer said, “You could classify this as a six-pointer. Fulham scraped through to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, and they got done at Newcastle in the last minute. Wolves are struggling, and it would worry me seeing them go away from home again. I would go for a Fulham home win here.

“If Wolves get beaten this weekend, the answer would be yes, I think they’ll be too far gone. Form-wise, there’s nothing suggesting they can win, but you know what football’s like.”

Shearer is not alone in his thoughts, as Chris Sutton believes Wolves’ main problem will cause them to lose.

Additionally, Paul Merson has little faith in the Wanderers to get a win.

Hope will be that Vitor Pereira can prove the doubters wrong, and it appears talk of his time running out are not affecting the Wolves head coach.

Vitor Pereira must go gung-ho

Wolves do not have the liberty to play for a draw away from home, and in seasons gone by, sharing the points at Craven Cottage would be a good result.

Vitor Pereira should play Jorgen Strand Larsen and Tolu Arokodare together and truly go for the win.

The London side are vulnerable defensively. They have only kept six clean sheets in their last 47 Premier League matches.

There is no time to waste, as the sooner the Wanderers get three points in the league, the quicker they can think about chances of surviving.

Right now, those chances are slim. However, anything can happen in football, so there is no point in not dreaming.
