Despite signing a new contract at Wolves just four weeks ago, Vitor Pereira is far from safe in his job at the Old Gold, and Alan Shearer has chipped in on whether or not he should be let go.
Molineux News has been told that Pereira’s future is in doubt, as the Wanderers are still winless in the Premier League this season.
The decision to offer the Portuguese head coach a new deal is starting to look worse as the weeks go on, and Sunday’s clash against Burnley is a must-win game.
Pereira is trying everything to turn things around, and he has hinted at putting players in new positions to find solutions.
However, if the results do not start to change, it feels inevitable that his time at Molineux will be cut short this season.
Alan Shearer has given his predictions for the weekend, and he included his feelings about Wolves potentially letting Pereira go.
Alan Shearer gives verdict on Vitor Pereira’s potential Wolves sacking

Alan Shearer did not have much hope this season for Wolves, with the all-time Premier League scorer tipping them for a relegation battle.
In truth, the situation is much worse than Shearer had originally predicted. Sunderland currently appear to be on course to survive, and Leeds and Burnley look much stronger than any of the promoted teams of the last two seasons.
It has left Wolves in a bleak situation. They will not be bailed out by three teams who are worse than them, and their battle to crawl out of the relegation zone has to start against Burnley on Sunday.
Another winless game would add fuel to what is already looking to be a disastrous season, and tensions at the club would grow significantly once more.
Vitor Pereira’s job would also be put into question more than it already has been, but Shearer insists letting him go would be ‘crazy’.

Writing on his predictions column for Metro, he said, “It would be crazy for Wolves to have signed Vitor Pereira on a new contract three or four weeks ago and then sack him.
“It was supposed to give him a position of confidence, but I imagine they’re still shocked and surprised that they’re yet to win a game.”
Shearer spoke about Wolves needing to beat Burnley, but the Englishman is also not confident about their chances this weekend.
He stated, “Burnley will be stubborn; make it frustrating for them – I’m not convinced with Wolves, and I’m not sure they’ve got enough.”
Ultimately he settled on a draw for Sunday’s game.
No way back for Vitor Pereira if Wolves do not beat Burnley
If Wolves do not win, it becomes increasingly difficult to see how Vitor Pereira can still turn this season around.
Fixtures are not kind to Wolves during November, and if three points cannot be won against Burnley, there is a possibility the Old Gold will enter December still without a win.

That would leave the club with a long way back from the drop, and at that point, they may have to resign themselves to Championship football next season.
Vitor Pereira has just a few weeks to save Wolves’ season and likely his own future too. Defeat to the Clarets would be a killer blow for a team already lacking confidence.
