Alan Shearer delivers brutal Jorgen Strand Larsen verdict as he predicts Wolves vs Man United

There was a world where Jorgen Strand Larsen was currently lining up for Newcastle United instead of Wolves, and now Toon legend Alan Shearer has made a claim about the Norwegian.

This season has seen the Old Gold struggle to create chances, and in turn, have found it difficult to score goals.

Jorgen Strand Larsen has not had an easy season. The beginning was marred by speculation and, additionally, an Achilles heel issue, and he has just never been able to get into any form since.

Only recently has the number nine admitted he finally feels fresh, and Rob Edwards will be hoping to see that on the pitch sooner rather than later.

With Tolu Arokodare set to head to the African Cup of Nations, Larsen will be the only recognised striker at the club during that period.

Wolves will need him in form, but Alan Shearer is yet to be convinced.

Wolves did the double over Manchester United last season! Hwang, Cunha, and Sarabia scored across the games, but only one is still at Wolves.

Amid their goalscoring woes, can Wolves find an answer for Monday?

Jorgen Strand Larsen has just one Premier League goal this season, a penalty against Burnley.

The Norwegian has struggled to reach the same heights that saw him net 14 goals in the league last campaign. Against Nottingham Forest, Larsen was one of the worst on the pitch.

His performances, which helped keep Wolves up, did not go unnoticed, and that prompted Newcastle to send bids around the £60 million mark.

The Wanderers held firm and ended up keeping the forward at the club, but that may not have been a good thing based on Alan Shearer’s latest claim.

Speaking ahead of Wolves vs Man United on Monday night, Shearer has said (via Metro), “Newcastle had a bid turned down for Strand Larsen. I’ve not seen anything this season, and it might be unfair on him, I guess, but I’ve not seen anything to suggest that that money would have been well spent.”

Hindsight is 20/20, but early signs this season suggest that the Old Gold might not see that sort of money for their star forward again.

The lack of goals, chances created, and overall decisiveness have faltered Wolves in their quest to remain in the Premier League.

And Shearer is also not convinced about their chances against Manchester United.

Alan Shearer predicts Wolves vs Man United

Alongside his verdict on Jorgen Strand Larsen, Shearer has also delivered his prediction for Monday, and as you would expect, he has sided with Manchester United.

The Premier League’s all-time top goalscorer has said, “Wolves can’t score goals; they can’t pick up any points. Man United don’t give me any hope though. But I think because of this poor run that Wolves are in, I am going to have to say a United win, but I’m not convinced.

“They’re on course to break Derby’s points record. They just don’t score any goals. There hasn’t really been an upturn of form since Rob Edwards went there, which I guess is not a big surprise because he’s not a miracle worker. The answer is, “I’m not sure they can.”

The English football legend is not alone in his prediction. Paul Merson has predicted a heavy loss for Wolves, as he feels they could go the season without a win.

Additionally, Chris Sutton is also backing Man United to win at Molineux.

Time to prove them wrong Rob Edwards.
