Former Premier League striker Alan Shearer is the latest pundit to heap praise on Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto.
The 20-year-old was at it again for Wolves last weekend, scoring a stunning winner against Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium.
Neto stepped up to secure three big points for Nuno Espirito Santo, and the praise has been coming from all directions since the game.
It was just the latest brilliant performance frm Neto, who has been the standout player all season for Wolves, who have of course have struggled as a collective this time around.
Neto has now come in for a positive word from BBC pundit Shearer, who has included him in his latest Premier League Team of the Week.
He said (official Premier League): “A huge talent who is having a fine season. He changed the game and scored a great goal.”
Neto’s fine strike was his fifth of the season, and he has also produced four assists.
That puts him top for goal involvements by U21 players in the Premier League so far, ahead of Phil Foden (8) and Bukayo Saka (7) (via Sky Sports).
Neto the talk of the town
It is yet more praise for Neto, who really deserves the acknowledgement.
He has been at it all season, he just hadn’t scored a goal of such high quality prior to Sunday.
It is nice to see his exploits being talked up, although all this hyping up will inevitably lead to some unwanted transfer interest one would have thought.
