Wolves are up into ninth in the Premier League table after beating Fulham at Molineux – and Alan Shearer moved to praise Jose Sa for his contributions.
Gary O’Neil oversaw another brilliant result, with Wanderers winning 2-1 against the Cottagers after losing Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Pedro Neto to injuries.
The treatment room is starting to get pretty crowded now, with Craig Dawson, Hwang Hee-chan and Matheus Cunha having all been nursing injuries of their own.
Thankfully, Cunha is seemingly almost back and could be in contention for this weekend’s huge FA Cup game with Coventry City.
Most of the talk has been about the brilliant Rayan Ait-Nouri in the last few few days – but Jose Sa certainly played his part in Saturday’s win…
Alan Shearer names Wolves star Jose Sa in his Premier League Team of the Week

Wolves ground out their 2-1 win on Saturday but it could easily have been a different game had Fulham been more clinical in the first-half.
They also had chances in the second, but they could not find a way past Jose Sa until it was far too late.
Sa made a string of important saves for Wanderers, with the Portuguese stopper making one crucial block from Joao Palhinha from close range.
He also made a good stop from Adama Traore, who came on as a substitute for Fulham on his first return to Molineux since leaving.
Sadly for Sa, Alex Iwobi did rob him of a clean sheet with the very last kick of the game, as he flicked in at the near post.
But he can be very pleased with his performance, and Alan Shearer was clearly impressed as he named him in his latest Team of the Week. He said (via premierleague.com): “Made five saves to keep Fulham at bay in the 2-1 win that keeps Wolves in European contention.”
Shearer also named Ait-Nouri in his team, branding him ‘a constant threat’.
A big display from Sa
It has been an interesting season for Sa, but Saturday’s game with Fulham was perhaps one of his best outings all campaign.
We know that the £7 million star can sometimes be a bit rash and put his side under pressure.
But there is no denying how brilliant this man’s reflexes are. The star once hailed as ‘incredible’ by Conor Coady was superb against Fulham and is a big reason why Wanderers walked away with another three points.
He hasn’t really come in for too much praise since the game. There has certianly been very little in the media about his contributions, with Ait-Nouri and Mario Lemina hogging the limelight.
But he came in clutch, and it’s right that he gets his flowers.
