Adama Traore turned down contract offers of over £100,000-a-week from Wolves

Adama Traore reportedly turned down contract offers worth over £100,000-a-week at Wolves.

The winger’s contract situation has come back into focus following his exploits against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

Traore was the match-winner at Molineux, striking late in the second-half.

The Spaniard scored with a brilliant first-time finish for his third goal of the season in all competitions.

After the game, Julen Lopetegui said of the star (Express & Star): “Adama has one kind of quality, it is very clear, and we try to take advantage of it. Today he scored a fantastic goal.

“It’s not one of the best versions of him, goals, because he has other skills. Today, fortunately he scored a fantastic goal for us.”

Pundit Danny Murphy then branded Traore ‘excellent’ on Match of the Day that evening.

Wolves fans are wondering if they are watching the final months of Traore in a Wolves shirt.

The 27-year-old is out of contract this summer and stands to leave as a free agent.

The Athletic have produced a report this morning about the situation and claim that it’s unlikely any more contract offers from Wolves are likely to match ones that were on the table previously.

It is stated that Traore has previously had offers in excess of £100,000-a-week at Wolves, which would have made him one of the top earners at the club if he had signed.

Traore has been on the same contract and weekly wage as when he first signed for the club back in 2018.

Adama Traore may want regular starts, as report claims he turned down huge contract offers from Wolves

This is quite the claim from The Athletic.

Traore has had the chance to earn truly incredible wages at Molineux, but he still hasn’t wanted to extend.

Perhaps that just indicates that Traore is after more than just a pay day.

During his time at Molineux, Traore has been named on the bench a lot, with his qualities clearly very well suited to being a substitute.

He may feel as though he wants to move on and join a club where he will be a regular starter.
