Adama Traore gives verdict on new Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui

Adama Traore has said he hasn’t yet had a chance to speak with Julen Lopetegui properly, but branded him an ‘excellent manager’.

A new chapter has officially begun at Molineux.

Wolves sacked Bruno Lage back at the start of October, and have only now just brought in his successor.

The club had wanted Loeptegui weeks ago and had approached him. But the timing was not right for the Spaniard, who was dealing with a personal situation.

That situation has improved recently, and Wolves were able to go back and talk with Lopetegui.

A deal was done, and the hard work starts now.

Lopetegui has made a fantastic impression so far.

His first day at Compton Park was recorded, and his aura was brilliant to see.

He attended the game against Arsenal on Saturday, where he was unveiled before a capacity crowd at Molineux.

And then yesterday, he appeared before the media for his first press conference, and struck the perfect tone.

So far, so good then.

But the hard work begins now, and Lopetegui must get a tune out of a bunch of players that have really underperformed so far this season.

Fans are confident he can do that though given his pedigree.

Speaking about his fellow countryman, Traore said: “I’ve not had the time to talk to him, but he’s an excellent manager. We know he’s going to help us and whatever he wants to say to us, we have to believe in him, work hard together and get out of this situation.”

Adama Traore could be one Wolves player that will thrive under Julen Lopetegui

There are a few Wolves players who are going to be very interesting to watch under a top coach like Lopetegui.

Traore is one of them, as it just feels he has several more gears to go up.

The £18 million winger is blessed with incredible physical attributes. But his end product is still far from where it needs to be.

He’s looked great in flashes under Nuno Espirito Santo and Bruno Lage. But Lopetegui might just be the man to take him to the next level.

Obviously there is the Spanish connection, so there cannot be any miscommunications.

If Lopetegui can finally crack it with Traore, then Wolves will be in business.
