Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore has been recognised as one of the best performing players in the Premier League after four games so far.

He has been deemed to be better than the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mo Salah of Liverpool.

He is also greater than Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku, who is fifth-highest.

The ratings are determined by a ‘comprehensive statistical algorithm’. WhoScored say there are over 200 raw statistics included in the calculation of a player’s rating.

Traore has undoubtedly been in fine fettle so far in 2021/22.

He has been a menace in all four Premier League games, and has actually had more successful dribbles (38) than a string of top teams in Europe such as Barcelona and Juventus.

He is yet to score or assist, but the threat is constantly there.

He does appear to be enjoying himself under Bruno Lage, and it surely won’t be long until he gets off the mark in those two categories.

Traore has wowed

It really has been a top start to the new season by the Spaniard.

He doesn’t have any goals or assists yet and that will likely be used a stick to beat him with by neutral supporters who haven’t watched him closely.

But the amount of runs he’s making and chances he’s creating is frightening.

That first direct goal contribution has to come soon. It genuinely is a bit of a mystery at this point how his output isn’t higher.
