Jeff Shi has today broken his silence amid Wolves’ terrible 2023/24 season so far.
Wolves are 19th in the Premier League table so far, having taken just nine points from 15 matches.
Wolves have conceded a whopping 38 goals so far, and the failure to bring in a replacement for Max Kilman in the summer has cost Gary O’Neil dearly.
O’Neil has seemingly been on the brink at Wolves for the past couple of weeks.
But it was reported earlier this week that O’Neil will be given the Ipswich Town game this weekend and potentially further games after that.
Today, to fans’ surprise, chairman Jeff Shi has penned a column in the E&S to talk about the club’s struggles at the moment.
He’s backed O’Neil in the column, but also made a few remarks that have seriously baffled supporters.
Jeff Shi says he believes in ‘the power of positivity’ in assessment of Wolves’ struggles

Writing in the E&S, Shi says: “Emotional reactions may come first, but lasting success requires calculated, scientific solutions. Finding the right formula isn’t always easy, and it often takes time. But once it’s discovered, results will follow.
“It’s human nature to fear losing something valuable, but I believe there’s a more positive way to view it. What we have now isn’t something we take for granted; instead, we treasure it and work tirelessly to protect it and nurture it.
“I believe in the power of positivity because negativity achieves nothing. Just as atoms remain atoms, how we perceive, combine, and connect them defines their collective value, and positive energy grants the group of atoms life and vitality.”
Embarrassing from Shi
The comments in the E&S from Shi today are a clear attempt to smooth things over with an increasingly angry fanbase, after a terrible season so far for the club.
As has been the case previously, there is nothing of any real substance in the column from Shi – it’s just an attempt to save face.
And the end part about ‘the power of positivity’ and the talk about atoms is just laughable.

Quite what he was thinking when he wrote that is anyone’s guess. Why he thought any Wolves fan would like to hear that is truly baffling. Wolves fans are totally justified in reacting negatively to the current situation, when they are being charged record prices to watch the club get neglected by those at the top.
If anything, the column has only served to make fans even more worried about the fate of the club this season.
