Wolves loaned out centre-back Nasser Djiga to Rangers earlier this month, and the young defender is already making a positive impression at his new club.
Djiga was signed on transfer deadline day in February from Red Star Belgrade after impressing in the Champions League.
Unfortunately, the 22-year-old rarely had an opportunity to showcase his defensive skill set under Vitor Pereira at Wolves.
With the likes of Emmanuel Agbadou, Toti Gomes, Matt Doherty, Yerson Mosquera and even Santiago Bueno all ahead of him in the pecking order, a loan move was the only option for the young defender.
Djiga was excited about joining Rangers, seeing it as an opportunity to play in Europe, and he’s already earned praise from his new club.

Rangers fans impressed by Nasser Djiga’s debut against Panathinaikos
On Tuesday night, Rangers faced off against Panathinaikos in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier at Ibrox.
Djiga impressed the Scottish media on the night after playing the full ninety minutes and looking composed at the back in a 2-0 victory.
The Burkina Faso international also received praise from his new supporters during the win, with many reacting to his performance via X.
“I was just scrolling through twitter there waiting to see a comment on Djiga. Absolutely strolled it apart from the mistake,” one fan wrote.
“Like the look of him. Looks a top defender,” someone else commented while a third said: “Djiga looked solid.”
“Nasser Djiga really impressed me for Rangers tonight. Had one sticky moment but apart from that his timing and composure on the ball was really solid,” another stated.
“Thought Djiga had a great game tonight as did Rothwell,” a sixth replied and someone else pointed out: “Djiga looked solid at the back.”
Djiga’s development can skyrocket under Russell Martin
Wolves are hopeful Djiga can become a success at Molineux, and after his solid display in the Champions League, their confidence will be even higher.
Although the youngster experienced some shaky moments in possession, this can be attributed to his lack of match sharpness, having not played much first-team football recently.
Fortunately, Djiga is in the right place to see his development skyrocket, as Rangers boss Martin is excellent at getting the best out of young players.
Hopefully, Djiga can continue to cement his spot in the heart of the defence and help Rangers produce an assault on the Scottish Premiership title.
