‘Absolute arrogance!’ – Wolves fans can’t believe what Gary O’Neil just said pre-Everton

Wolves fans have reacted to Gary O’Neil’s latest comments regarding his future at Molineux.

The Old Gold are preparing for Wednesday night’s relegation clash against Everton at Goodison Park.

At present, Wolves are recovering from their defeat to Bournemouth, a fixture that saw O’Neil’s side humiliated by his former club.

As a result, O’Neil could make several changes to the squad to play Everton, in what is surely considered a must-win for the visitors.

Gary O’Neil comments on his future at Wolves

O’Neil is the worst manager of Wolves in the modern era, holding the lowest win percentage out of others who have manned the Old Gold.

Things have to change once more for the squad, whose four-game unbeaten run was ended by Bournemouth.

Mistakes were at the heart of Wolves’ loss to the Cherries however, O’Neil did not escape criticism.

O’Neil made a mistake playing Mario Lemina at centre-back, a costly decision that resulted in the back line being alarmingly disorganised.

Sitting in the bottom three ahead of the trip to Goodison Park, the manager was quizzed on his future at the club after Wolves fans called for O’Neil to be sacked.

In the pre-match press conference ahead of Everton, O’Neil shared an update on his Wolves future, stating his bold verdict.

“I have zero concerns over my role and future as a coach,” the Englishman said.

“I know how hard I work and I’m comfortable with the work I do, but of course I want results to improve. I understand results will decide how long I stay at Wolves.”

Wolves fans are furious at O’Neil

Wolves fans were quite simply outraged at the manager’s assessment of his future, seeing loyal supporters take to X to air their frustration.

Reacting to O’Neil claiming he has ‘zero concerns’, one fan said, “How gracious of him to say so!”

“Zero concerns? Absolute arrogance! Us fans have concerns!!” Another said, an opinion shared by many.

“Us fans can’t take much more of this,” a disgruntled fan said.

“Individualism beat Southampton and Fulham just had an off day. 32 goals conceded, 1 clean sheet is horrific.”

Another supporter accused O’Neil of suffering from “absolute delusion,” as another reminded the boss why there are indeed concerns.

“The constant change of tactics/players positions is forcing mistakes. There’s time to save the season. Appoint a competent manager. Get him GONE.”

Most concerningly, one supporter said what the main worry is right now at Molineux, declaring, “We won’t survive under O’Neil.”

Everton is without a doubt a must-win, not just if O’Neil hopes to remain as manager but to ensure Wolves have a chance of turning their form around.
