‘A huge positive’: Gary O’Neil says £15m Wolves player works so hard in training

Wolves have seen one player’s performances this season improve rapidly as he becomes one of the leagues best, Pedro Neto.

Facing Aston Villa this Sunday, Wolves will rightly be high in confidence thanks to how good they were last week. Beating Manchester City at home could end up being a real catalyst for Gary O’Neil‘s reign at the club.

The win moved Wolves onto seven points and just three points off 10th which should be enough motivation to push Wolves on for a win here. If they are to be successful, one player will be pivotal.

That name is Pedro Neto, someone Gary O’Neil has praised in his pre-match press conference.

O’Neil on Pedro Neto

Speaking with media, via the club’s official website before the fixture at Molineux, O’Neil was asked about Neto and his recent performances.

“He’s worked extremely hard. It’s all him really, his commitment of what we’re tyring to do, his understanding of the tactical stuff that we give him, his understanding of all the extras we do and how committed he is to them and wanting to improve, and just his work rate, his enthusiasm around the place, I’m delighted for him.

“You’re pleased when everybody does well, but when someone has committed and is enthusiastic and willing to work as Pedro is gets some success, you’re really pleased for them. He’s been a huge positive since I’ve walked in.”

Among the leagues best

On his current form, Neto is one of the leagues best wingers. This is backed up by the stats which make it undeniable.

Four assists and a goal for Wolves this season alone sees him joint top in the Premier League’s assist leader race. Massive for a player many had written off.

He has also shown already that the best is still yet to come, and that he can rise the tide for Wolves.
