£8.5m Wolves ace also spotted back in training alongside Craig Dawson ahead of Brentford clash

Wolves take on Brentford this weekend in what is a huge game, and Gary O’Neil looks like he’ll be able to call on a player there were concerns over after the defeat to Liverpool.

Wanderers are still waiting for their first win in the Premier League.

It was another defeat on Saturday against Liverpool and currently, Wolves are bottom of the table having taken just one point.

It was always going to be a hard start.

But Wolves have been competitive in games and some will take heart from that. It is now about turning performances into points though.

The pressure is mounting on O’Neil, but there’s a big chance for three points this weekend against Brentford, who have a number of injury problems.

It looks like O’Neil will be able to call on Santiago Bueno this weekend.

The Uruguay international started against Liverpool last weekend, but made for way Tommy Doyle in the 77th minute.

It appeared to be tactical at the time. But O’Neil stated after the game that Bueno had asked to be taken off after he felt something in his glute.

But seemingly there has been no lasting damage for the player.

Wolves have released new training photos today and Bueno can be seen in a couple of them training as normal with his teammates at Compton Park.

Defender Craig Dawson was also with the group, after he missed out on the matchday squad for the Liverpool game through illness.

So at the moment, O’Neil is only missing the longer-term injured players like Yerson Mosquera, Boubacar Traore and Sasa Kalajdzic.

Bueno in contention for Brentford

It will be interesting to see which way O’Neil will go against Brentford.

Dawson will surely start the game having returned to training after illness, assuming his match fitness is there.

It is then a straight choice between Bueno and Toti Gomes.

There is an argument for £8.5 million signing Bueno to keep his starting berth as he performed slightly better than the Portuguese against Liverpool.

On the whole, he has looked a bit more comfortable in a back four than Toti.

It really is a flip of a coin though, because Toti has probably been more in favour with the manager than Bueno since he came in at Molineux.
