£14m Wolves player is one of the most lethal players in the Premier League right now as impressive stat emerges

Wolves have again taken some criticism for not being good enough in the final third – but an interesting statistic has emerged about one Molineux star.

Wanderers have had a tough start to the new season, losing four out of their first five Premier League games.

It was defeat again for Wolves at the weekend, with Liverpool running out 3-1 winners at Molineux.

Wolves put in a fine first-half display, and looked well place to get something from the gamem.

But there was a huge drop off in the second-half, and Liverpool turned the game around.

Simply put, Wolves need to get more clinical – although that may not apply too much to one player in the squad right now…

Impressive statistic emerges about Wolves star Hwang Hee-chan

One of the biggest positives of Wolves’ tough start this season has been the form of Hwang Hee-chan.

Hwang has enjoyed a pretty good 2023 on the whole, having struggled a bit before the World Cup.

In these opening weeks, he has looked a real threat.

And now, a pretty impressive statistic has emerged about the South Korean forward.

According to WhoScored, out of the 84 players in the Premier League who have had five shots or more so far, Hwang actually has the best conversion rate with 42.9%.

Such a rate technically makes Hwang the most clinical player in the division right now. He may not be the top goalscorer, but he is currently the most efficient at taking chances.

£14 million star Hwang has scored three goals in the Premier League so far, against Brighton, Crystal Palace and Liverpool.

Hwang has his eye in for Wolves right now

Hwang, praised recently by O’Neil, has definitely made an impressive start to the new campaign.

So far, he has looked like the most likely source of a goal for Wolves.

Simply put, he must be one of the first names on Gary O’Neil’s teamsheet at this point.

Wolves may have struggled to get points on the board. But the performances of Hwang, and also Pedro Neto, are reason to be encouraged.

Hopefully, other players can take a leaf out of Hwang’s book and become a bit more clinical in front of goal.
