‘World class’… Wolves fans laud ‘seriously special’ player after 4-2 Tottenham win

Wolves recorded their fourth straight win in the Premier League to climb up to 16th place in the table.

Wolves had a torrid first half of the campaign, but are now really starting to purr under Vitor Pereira, who has transformed the club.

Wanderers took advantage of some embarrassing Spurs mistakes today at Molineux.

Rayan Ait-Nouri and Djed Spence own goal handed Wolves a 2-0 lead going into half-time, and really, the hosts did not have to work particularly hard for it.

But Spurs pulled one back through Mathys Tel, before Jorgen Strand Larsen made it 3-1 with his fifth goal in four games.

After Richarlison made it 3-2, Matheus Cunha scored against Spurs after coming off the bench, and celebrated as if to apologise for all the noise around him in recent weeks.

There were brilliant individual displays all over the pitch today from Wolves players.

And one man who really did shine bright – as he has done most times he’s pulled on the old gold shirt – was Emmanuel Agbadou.

Despite Tottenham’s struggles this season, Wolves’ defence was also going to need to stand strong today.

Spurs had scored 58 goals in the Premier League before today’s game – only Liverpool and Manchester City had scored more.

And the backline was relatively solid throughout, and Emmanuel Agbadou shone once again for Wolves in the middle.

The Ivorian was rock-solid as always, but constantly picked brilliant line-breaking passes to his teammates to get Wolves on the front foot.

And on social media, his efforts in today’s win were lapped up by fans.

@Twitsham83 said: “Thank goodness Danso went to Tottenham, someone else would have ended up with Agbadou.”

@fedsgotJayden added: “They tried running at Agbadou, I audibly laughed.”

@WWFC_ST21 said: “Agbadou is just unreal isn’t he.”

@Fizo_37 added: “Agbadou is quite literally world class in every sense of the word.”

Agbadou has been incredible for Wolves

There was no clean sheet today for Wolves but the contributions of Agbadou to the win over Spurs cannot be overstated.

The Ivorian was just superb for Wolves, with data indicating that he won 7/9 duels on the day. He also used the ball really well, completing 42/49 passes.

What’s really refreshing about Agbadou is that, while he obviously has really good physical and defensive qualities, he’s also capable of getting Wolves up the pitch and into dangerous positions.

He is always looking to break the lines into midfield, and he will also hit Jorgen Strand Larsen with a long pass – which is something Wolves just did not do enough earlier in the season.

Whoever was involved in signing him from just £15 million deserves serous credit, because he’s totally transformed that backline since he came in.
