Wolves predicted lineup, team and injury news as Pablo Sarabia unleashed vs Crystal Palace

Wolves are currently preparing for their huge Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

A miserable start to the season looked like it was going to get worse last weekend when Brighton opened a two-goal lead, only for Wolves to produce a stunning fightback, with Matheus Cunha scoring the equaliser.

Cunha has since commentated on his goal against the Seagulls, in a moment that could help turn their season around.

Gary O’Neil has played down talk of Wolves fixture against Crystal Palace being a ‘must-win’, although their position in the table tells a different story, with the Old Gold sat in 19th position on two points.

The Midlands side desperately need to take all three points away from Molineux this weekend, otherwise, the current gap of four between them and Palace will extend to seven with a defeat.

Wolves team news ahead of Crystal Palace

Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has missed the last few games through injury but O’Neil did confirm that the English shot-stopper did return to training this week, and that could put him in contention to start.

Captain Mario Lemina picked up a slight issue with his calf in the draw against Brighton, although the 31-year-old should be available to take his place in the starting XI at home to Palace.

Hwang Hee-chan, on the other hand, remains sidelined for the next couple of weeks with ligament damage to his ankle, and he’s joined by Bastien Meupiyou on the sidelines, who should be back training with the group next week.

The only other absentees for Wolves are Yerson Mosquera, Sasa Kalajdzic and Boubacar Traore, with the trio working hard to recover from their respective injuries.

Wolves predicted lineup against Crystal Palace

O’Neil could switch his formation back to a four-man defence in this fixture after coming from behind to salvage a point on the South Coast.

The much-maligned Jose Sa should keep his place between the sticks, although Johnstone potentially being fit could hand the Wolves boss a goalkeeping conundrum.

Switching back to a four-man defence will mean the ‘clumsy’ Toti Gomes could drop out with Craig Dawson and Santi Bueno partnering in defence alongside attacking full-backs Ait-Nouri and Nelson Semedo.

As for the midfield, Tommy Doyle was brilliant against Brighton and it would be remarkably harsh to drop him. He should start alongside Andre with Lemina deployed in a more advanced role.

O’Neil has been tipped to reward Pablo Sarabia with a start on the right flank after impressing in the second half last weekend, with Cunha playing off the left and Jorgen Strand Larsen leading the line, as usual.

Wolves (4-2-3-1): Sa; Semedo, Dawson, Bueno, Ait-Nouri; Andre, Doyle; Sarabia, Lemina, Cunha; Strand Larsen.
