Wolves player ratings vs West Ham as Mateus Mane exceptional in 3-0 win and another forward gets 8/10

Wolves secured their first win of the season with an unbelievable 3-0 win against West Ham.

Wolves were rampant in the first half. An early goal from Jhon Arias sent the Old Gold on course for a great day at Molineux.

Hwang Hee-chan, who assisted Arias, got a goal of his own as Mateus Mane won a penalty. The South Korean calmly slotted it away.

Mane, who was involved in most of Wolvesโ€™ action in the final third, would score his first goal for the Wanderers, and what a finish it was.

The second half was less lively, as the Old Gold dug in their heels and frustrated the Hammers, who simply could not create anything of note.

WOW ๐Ÿ˜. What is your message to Rob Edwards after that performance, Wolves fans?

Wolves player ratings vs West Ham

Jose Sa โ€“ 6

Barely troubled in the first half, as West Ham had just one stray shot off target. The second would be more of the same. However, he done well with a couple of punches and claims.

Jackson Tchatchoua โ€“ 5

Jackson Tchatchoua did not really do much wrong, but it is what he doesnโ€™t do that frustrates. The Cameroonian has blistering pace, and he seems scared to use it to skip past opponents.

Put in a couple of wild crosses that came to no avail.

Yerson Mosquera โ€“ 6

A few moments of concern against Summerville drop his rating lower than his counterparts, and the winger had the better of him on many occasions.

Santiago Bueno โ€“ 6

The majority of West Hamโ€™s attacks filtered out wide, and with Santiago Bueno playing as the middle centre-back, he did not have to get involved much.

Ladislav Krejci โ€“ 7

Incredible from Krejci, who looked so assured at the back in his duels for the Old Gold. What a player Wolves have on their hands.

Hugo Bueno โ€“ 7

He did not have to do much for his assist, as it was Mane who did all the work, but he will happily take it.

Joao Gomes โ€“ 7

Subbed off at half-time after not putting much wrong, and the reasoning is unknown. Hopefully, itโ€™s just the Brazilian being given a rest.

Jhon Arias โ€“ 7

The midfield role worked once again, as Arias got himself into the box to score his first professional goal for the Old Gold. He was lively, active, and put the hard yards in.

The second half felt like he was less productive, as West Ham controlled the game. However, being a number eight for Wolves might be his true calling.

Mateus Mane โ€“ 9

Jhon Arias may have scored, and Hwang Hee-chan may have got the assist, but the opening goal came from Mateus Mane using his body extremely well up against Magassa.

Troubled the midfielder once again by winning a penalty from a poor challenge and then scored a sensational finish to put Wolves three goals to the good.

What a player this kid is, and involved in everything.

Tolu Arokodare โ€“ 7

Quiet in terms of the usual expectation of strikers involving shots and chance creation, but his presence alone up top opens up so much space for his teammates.

Won nearly every ball he battled for, held the ball up well, and made himself a nuisance. Quickly becoming a success from the summer window.

Hwang Hee-chan โ€“ 8

Started quite well, looked lively, and managed an assist in the opening minutes. Later followed up with a well-dispatched penalty.

The South Korean went off with an injury, which is a blow after such a promising display.

Substitutes

Andre โ€“ 7

Came on as a like-for-like replacement for Joao Gomes and kept the same level. Had less of the ball than Gomes due to West Ham dominating the possession.

Jorgen Strand Larsen โ€“ 5

Quiet performance off the bench as Wolves looked to soak up pressure rather than move forward for a fourth.

Tawanda Chirewa โ€“ N/A

Brought on for Mateus Mane in the closing moments of the game.

David Moller Wolfe โ€“ N/A

Given minutes as a substitute for Tolu Arokodare to ensure a clean sheet.
