It is now seven losses from seven games for Rob Edwards after Wolves fell to a 2-1 defeat vs Liverpool.
It looked like Wolves could frustrate the home side, but some poor defending five minutes before the half-time break would result in two quick-fire goals for the hosts.
Ryan Gravenberch and Florian Wirtz would punish the Old Gold’s defensive lapses.
Rob Edwards’ half-time team talk seemed to work, as Santiago Bueno halved the deficit by poking home from a corner.
Wolves continued to push, and you could dare say they were the better side in the second half. However, the equaliser would never come.
Here are the ratings.
Who let down Wolves the most vs Liverpool?
Wolves player ratings vs Liverpool
Jose Sa – 4
You would have wanted Sa to have been much stronger at saving the two goals for Liverpool, but the Portuguese was also on hand to make a couple of other strong stops.
Matt Doherty – 4
Found it tough out there, with Wirtz and Kerkez linking up down the right-hand side. They found plenty of joy in the opening half. Subbed off after an hour.
Santiago Bueno – 6
Let Florian Wirtz run in behind far too easily, with the gap between Bueno and Ladislav Krejci at the back making it a simple finish for the German. Redeemed himself with good reactions to knock home a goal of his own.
Yerson Mosquera – 4
Not his best game in a Wolves shirt. Lost quite a few of his individual battles but also did well defending the box. Mixed performance, and him going off injured is a blow considering the options at Edwards’ disposal.
Ladislav Krejci – 4
He defended well, but there was nothing outrightly impressive about his display, and perhaps you would expect more, especially with the gap left for Wirtz’ goal.
Hugo Bueno – 3
Perhaps allowed Frimpong too much space to cut it back to Ryan Gravenberch for the game’s opener. Also found it tough to keep the pacey Dutchman at bay.
Andre – 6
Good delivery for the corner which forced the goal. When on the ball, he rarely did much wrong. Defensively sound as well.
Joao Gomes – 7
Battled well in midfield, won his duels, kept the ball moving, and was by far Wolves’ most important player on the day.

Hwang Hee-chan – 4
Largely anonymous up top, and struggled to get himself into the game.
Mateus Mane – 6
Looked to be one of Wolves’ only bright sparks early on and always looked forward with attacking intent. He has to be a regular if Rob Edwards wants Wolves to have any joy.
Tolu Arokodare – 6
Got up well to connect with Andre’s corner, which forced Alisson to save the ball into the path of Santiago Bueno. Also gave Wolves a true focal point to aim for from crosses.
Subs
Jackson Tchatchoua – 5
Provided more impact out wide than Doherty did and had some decent attacking actions.
Jorgen Strand Larsen – 4
Found it tough to get into the game, but in the one moment he did, he put a teasing cross into the box that was surely a goal if not for Conor Bradley’s interception.
David Moller Wolfe – 4
Did better than Hugo Bueno, but there was not a high bar to reach.
Jhon Arias – 5
Took up some nice positions and could have scored if not for Conor Bradley’s vital interception.
