Wolves player ratings vs Leicester City, Vitor Pereira in dreamland as Goncalo Guedes gets 9/10

Wolves beat Leicester City 3-0 in Vitor Pereira’s first Premier League game in charge of the Old Gold.

What an afternoon it was for Wolves at the King Power Stadium, who cruised to three points against Leicester.

Pereira made several changes in his first Wolves XI, alterations that certainly paid off for the new manager.

Both Rodrigo Gomes and Goncalo Guedes were named in the starting lineup, two players who found themselves on the scoresheet.

Matheus Cunha also scored, rounding off a stellar first match in charge for the new Wolves manager

Wolves player ratings vs Leicester City

Jose Sa – 6.5

Did very well to respond to Jamie Vardy going through in the first half and showed how positive his distribution can be.

Nelson Semedo – 7

So sharp combining on the right side, consistently alert and ready to impact the game both defensively and when attacking.

Santiago Bueno – 6

After a trialling outing against Ipswich Town, Bueno restored his confidence at the back, marshalling the back line well alongside Toti Gomes.

Toti Gomes – 6

There were some nervy moments in the game from Toti but thankfully, nothing as concerning as his performance against Ipswich.

Matt Doherty – 7

Doherty and Semedo worked incredibly well together on the right side, interchanging to play to each other’s strengths, a sight to behold for Wolves.

Rodrigo Gomes – 8

Gomes looked comfortable at left-wing-back in the absence of Rayan Ait-Nouri, a constant lively spark looking to make things happen. Deserved his goal after continual strong movement in behind.

Andre – 6.5

Andre did his job expertly in the midfield alongside countryman Joao Gomes, the Brazilian was efficient when going into challenges and brought a consistently assured presence.

Joao Gomes – 6.5

Paired with Andre, Gomes played his game very well in the middle of the park. The 23-year-old was able to venture forward when Wolves were attacking thanks to his style being complemented by his midfield partner.

Goncalo Guedes – 9

O’Neil only handed Guedes a limited chance to show his worth, which is already proving to have been an error.

The forward shone particularly in the first half, scoring, assisting and being an all-round handful for the Leicester defence to manage.

Matheus Cunha – 8

With Guedes and Strand Larsen in support, Cunha was able to flourish playing both the creator and the scorer.

The Brazilian netted his ninth Premier League goal of the season in style, combining well with Guedes to expose Leicester’s frailties.

Jorgen Strand Larsen – 8

The robust figure of Strand Larsen was useful for those playing in support of the striker along the front line.

Wolves’ number nine was in fine form at the King Power despite not scoring, being a constant threat as the Old Gold’s target man.
