Wolves suffered a third consecutive Premier League defeat as the Old Gold fell short to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The highs of Wolves’ 4-2 win over Chelsea last season expired as Vitor Pereira watched his side lose 3-1 to the Blues in the capital.
Wolves remain on the fence of the relegation zone, and despite getting the game to level terms before half-time, were undone by Enzo Maresca’s squad in the second half.
On a night that saw many players fail to impress, here’s how the Wolves squad rated against Chelsea.

Wolves player ratings vs Chelsea
Jose Sa – 4.5
Almost got caught out in the first half by a lapse in communication between himself and Doherty. Sa was caught in no man’s land for Madueke’s goal.
Rayan Ait-Nouri – 5.5
Ait-Nouri was pulled apart by Noni Madueke early into the game, seeing Pereira promptly alter the Algerian’s position.
While the fullback dazzles going forward, questions are consistently asked about his defensive awareness.
Emmanuel Agbadou – 7
Pereira has given no time for Agbadou to breathe at Wolves however, that hasn’t phased the Ivorian who was impressive against Chelsea.
The January signing was strong and composed, with a high point being his dominance in the box for Doherty’s goal.
Santi Bueno – 4
Bueno was slammed after Wolves’ defeat to Newcastle and unfortunately for the centre-back, things didn’t improve against Chelsea.
It’s abundantly clear that another defender is needed this month.
Matt Doherty – 5.5
Doherty’s late first-half goal spared his blushes as the Irishman was prone to error in the opening stages of the contest.

Nelson Semedo – 5
Semedo and Ait-Nouri switched sides which seemed to disrupt the Portuguese’s game.
The fullback was beaten too easily in the air by Chalobah to allow Madueke to score Chelsea’s third.
Joao Gomes – 8
Gomes was handed the challenge of keeping Chelsea’s central threat at bay and that’s just what the Brazilian did.
The midfielder made it hard for the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Cole Palmer, who were constantly met by Gomes’ energy.
Andre – 7
The combination of Andre and Gomes is bringing Pereira great joy, as the Brazilian combined well with his compatriot in the middle.
Questions will be asked as to whether the summer signing could’ve tracked a run in the build-up to Cucurella’s goal.
Pablo Sarabia – 4
Pereira listened to Wolves fans’ concerns about Hwang Hee-chan and started Sarabia, who was just as ineffective in the lineup.
Matheus Cunha – 4
Wolves fans were unimpressed with Cunha, who showed limited effort against Chelsea amid speculation over his future at Molineux.
The Brazilian looked disinterested for the most part as he failed to offer anywhere near his best for the Old Gold.
Jorgen Strand Larsen – 4
Strand Larsen is a bright talent and despite the Norweigan requiring more service, the striker must be willing to make more proactive movements in the final third.

Substitutes
Goncalo Guedes – N/A
Did not impact the game.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde – N/A
Another forgettable cameo from Bellegarde.
Rodrigo Gomes – 6
The summer signing offered the most threat out of the substitutes but, there’s an argument to be had over whether Gomes should’ve started.
