Wolves fans slam ‘lazy’ player as defensive woes continue in 3-1 defeat to Chelsea

Wolves have lost once again in the Premier League against Chelsea.

Having lost 3-0 against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest in the last two games, Vitor Pereira needed a response tonight at Stamford Bridge.

But it was a woeful display from Wanderers in west London – with bad defending once again the visitors’ undoing.

Wolves barely showed any attacking intent for the first 35 minutes or so, with Chelsea having taken the lead through Tosin Adarabioyo.

But Wolves actually went in 1-1 at half-time, after Matt Doherty equalised in scrappy fashion from a corner.

After briefly threatening early in the second-half, the wheels then came off.

Marc Cucurella was able to ghost in completely free after a cross by Noni Madueke from the left side.

Then, Madueke turned goalscorer, as he poked in on the line after Trevoh Chalobah beat Nelson Semedo in the air from a corner.

The defending was utterly atrocious once more, and there really were a number of poor performances in Old Gold.

Wolves fans slam Rayan Ait-Nouri in Chelsea defeat

Wolves fans have expressed their displeasure with Ait-Nouri on social media tonight following his poor display in the capital.

Wolves fans felt Ait-Nouri had a nightmare against Chelsea in the reverse fixture back in August – and it was the same story tonight at Stamford Bridge.

He was nowhere near as bad as in that 6-2 defeat.

But Ait-Nouri really was poor against Chelsea, getting caught in no man’s land on the Cucurella goal.

And after just 20 minutes of the game Vitor Pereira switched him to the right side because he was having such a bad time of it against Madueke.

Rodrigo Gomes deserves to start over Ait-Nouri

Ait-Nouri was poor tonight for Wolves but so were many of his teammates.

There can perhaps be some sympathy with him due to being moved over to the right side by Pereira.

But it was still a perhaps that should now give the manager something to think about ahead of the next game with Arsenal.

Rodrigo Gomes has been in really good form lately, and should be considered to replace the Algerian.
