They faced a Brighton team quite depleted as a result of Covid-19 positive tests, injuries and suspensions.

After losing Hwang Hee-chan early to injury, Wolves were poor in the first-half and really struggled to put any decent attacks together.

But despite that poor showing, Wolves did actually score just before half-time.

A terrible Fernando Marcal corner was poorly cleared, and Ruben Neves lofted a brilliant ball over the top to Romain Saiss who finished superbly on the volley on his weak foot.

That was the Moroccan’s second of the season.

In the second-half Wolves looked much better, playing with more fluidity and conviction.

Traore, 25, who was the man to replace the injured Hwang, was quite the menace, leading a number of counter-attacks for the visitors.

He linked up really well with Daniel Podence, and at times showed some good playmaking quality, slipping in the likes of Francisco Trincao and Nelson Semedo.

Some were surprised he didn’t start the game.

And the Spaniard certainly did make the initial move from Lage look questionable.

There were, again, no goals or assists for the 25-year-old.

But he was the biggest threat for Wolves as usual, and better finishing from the likes of Podence and Francisco Trincao should have meant a first assist for him.
