Wolverhampton Wanderers recorded a second straight victory in the Premier League, beating Sheffield United 1-0 at Molineux.
The team have pretty much brushed away all relegation fears with the latest result, and sent the Blades back down to the Championship in the process.
It was not a great performance from the hosts, who were back in their tried and tested back three/five.
But the job got done, and it will mean Nuno Espirito Santo can perhaps mix things up a bit in the final weeks of 2020/21 and maybe even release the shackles.
It was Willian Jose who grabbed the game’s only goal.
The Brazilian, who saw a goal ruled out against Fulham by VAR the previous weekend, was on hand to convert a cross from Adama Traore in the second-half.
It was a big moment for the South American, who has been slightly disappointing since his arrival on loan in January.
Hopefully, he’ll take big confidence from opening his account.
Arguably, Wolves’ best player on the night was Nelson Semedo.
The 27-year-old continues to improve by the week, and against the Blades he was solid defensively, and lively going forwards.
On social media, many fans praised his contributions:
Semedo is so good 🥰 pic.twitter.com/Z8BMi4LIaO

Dreadful performance last night but #wwfc got the job done and can now start planning for next season. A word for Semedo, who has proven a lot of people (myself included) wrong with his recent form. Very good player.

All the Semedo haters have gone quiet. Yet again the best player by a country mile tonight #wwfc

A big plus tonight was Nelson Semedo. He’s rapidly developing into a cracking FB. His hard work is paying off. For @Fosun_Intl, a big summer now with long term injs needing cover or possibly replacing completely. So far they have stated self-sufficiency, they need to buy #wwfc
