Wolves have lost 1-0 to Arsenal in the Premier League, but fans moved to praise the performance of Daniel Podence.
Wanderers’ have been beaten for the first time this calendar year in the top-flight, with Gabriel scoring the game’s only goal for the visitors.
Wolves were actually decent in possession, but ultimately the team just lacked the cutting edge at Molineux, something that continues to be a big problem.
Bruno Lage’s side knocked it around with confidence, but good quality chances were few and far between.
The quality of crossing was particularly poor.
Wolves huffed and puffed after Gabriel Martinelli was sent off for two yellow cards, but there was no way through the 10-man Gunners.
One man who again impressed for Wolves despite the defeat, was Daniel Podence.
The winger often looked the biggest threat in the game for Wolves. He was very lively and delivered several teasing crosses.
According to Sofascore data, Podence made five key passes in the game, which was by far and away the most of any player on the pitch.
He has been the form attacker for Wolves in recent weeks, and he was unfortunate not to get a goal contribution against the Gunners.
He may not have scored or assisted, but he is highly likely to keep his place in the starting XI for the next game.
If anyone is going to drop out of the attack, it will be Francisco Trincao.

No complaints about the result
Lots of huffing and puffing but the quality in front of goal lacking…same old story sadly
Podence ran his socks off, fair play to him
The dream is still on but some of our goal attempts give me nightmares#wwfc

Poor performance. When teams go defensive against us for most of the game we always struggle to break them down. Nobody seemed to want to take a shot. Podence was our brightest. Arsenal playing like a championship side fouling, diving and time wasting.
