Wolves came out 2-0 winners against Southampton, but many of the Old Gold faithful remain unimpressed with Gary O’Neil.
Wolves have finally tasted a Premier League victory for the first time this season. Goals from Pablo Sarabia and Matheus Cunha were enough to secure the three points and ease pressure on O’Neil.
The Wolves manager was no doubt in trouble going into the game after previously only picking up one victory in 20 Premier League games.
O’Neil was thought to be on the brink of the sack if Wolves lost to Southampton. However, the victory has likely kept him in the Old Gold dugout going into the international break.
Yet, many fans are seemingly still unpleased with their manager, with many calling for O’Neil to still get the boot.
Wolves fans still want Gary O’Neil sacked despite victory over Southampton

While Wolves did pick up a vital three points against the Saints, it was far from a good performance.
The visitors were allowed 71% possession at Molineux and Southampton had an equaliser ‘harshly’ disallowed early in the game.
As a result, many fans are still insisting that O’Neil be given the boot over the international break.
Many are concerned that the result will simply delay the inevitable regarding O’Neil’s status as Wolves manager.
Many Wolves fans are still supporting Gary O’Neil

While recent performances have been far from exception, results-wise, five points from their last three games is a decent return for O’Neil.
A victory was no doubt needed against Southampton and the manager finally delivered.
As a result, many of the South Bank encouraged O’Neil to do his fist pumps at full-time to which he obliged, showing the support he still possesses at Molineux.
While it is highly unlikely that he will get the sack in the international break, the following games will be very telling on his future.
Fulham, Bournemouth, Everton and West Ham follow. At least six points will be expected out of those four games or O’Neil may not last too much longer.
