Wolves fans are all making a worrying prediction after disappointing loss vs Crystal Palace

Wolves tasted their third straight Premier League defeat as Crystal Palace ran out as 4-2 winners at Selhurst Park.

Following losses against Manchester City and Brighton, Vitor Pereira would have ordered a response from his players after a long break and that looked promising in the opening exchanges.

Emmanuel Agbadou gave Wolves the lead with his first goal for the club, but that was soon cancelled out by a brace from Eddie Nketiah, who cashed in on some lacklustre defending from the visitors.

In the second half, their chances of mounting a comeback were dashed even further when Ben Chilwell’s deflected free-kick deceived Dan Bentley.

But Jorgen Strand Larsen restored hope with his 14th goal of the season on the hour mark, as Wolves looked the most likely to score another before Eberechi Eze caught the visitors out on the counter-attack, putting the game to bed minutes from time.

Wolves fans fear the worst ahead of the transfer window

Wolves’ 4-2 loss against Crystal Palace was their third in a row. It was another disappointing result from the Old Gold, who typically end the season poorly.

Supporters were on a high after winning six matches on the bounce, but following their latest defeat, fans have voiced their concerns ahead of the summer transfer window with Fosun at the helm.

“Another poor end to the season again, they want season tickets by end of this month, Cunha and Semedo leaving getting fed up now with this club there seems to be no hope with Fosun and Jeff Shi in charge rinse and repeat,” one fan wrote.

“Massive window for #wwfc in the summer. The turnover of players will be high and we need to find quality replacements,” another commented.

“Think tonight will be an eye opener for Vitor, about how much work there is to do this summer, both on and off the pitch,” a third said.

“Feels like rinse and repeat. End the season badly, sell our best players, don’t back the manager. Be nice to end with a win on Sunday but I wouldn’t put money on it. Be even nicer to have a good summer window,” someone else replied.

“Despite winning 6 games recently, we will end the season on a row of 4 defeats. Got to get some steal in the team. Too many weak players. Big summer ahead,” a sixth wrote.

“I know we’ll be in trouble next season because Vitor won’t be backed. Hence why I’d prefer to go down and get out of this stupid cycle,” another worryingly commented.

Fosun risk losing Vitor Pereira if they don’t back him

It was always going to be tough to win at a raucous Selhurst Park, as the fans were on cloud nine after winning the FA Cup against Manchester City.

The task of winning was made even harder when Pereira made six changes to the side that lost to Brighton last time out, with the likes of Nasser Djiga and Bentley not covering themselves in glory.

Ultimately, it’s looking like a disappointing end to the campaign for Wolves, and a reminder that a lot of work needs to be done in the transfer window.

Unfortunately, supporters have no confidence in the ownership delivering in the transfer market. Fosun operate with a self-sustaining model, whereby selling players for huge money and only investing a fraction into the squad.

Wolves will pocket £62.5 million for Matheus Cunha from Manchester United, and although it will be in instalments, most of it will need to be spent on finding a replacement.

That will be a clear indicator of how ambitious Fosun are in the transfer window, as failure to back Pereira could see him walk.
