Vitor Pereira claimed a vital victory in his first game in charge of Wolves as they cruised to a 3-0 win over Leicester City.
It was a magical afternoon for Wolves at the King Power Stadium. The club’s dire form going into the fixture was quickly forgotten about as they increased their Premier League survival chances in a dominant performance.
Goncalo Guedes got the visitors off to an ideal start when he hooked in an opener early on. Rodrigo Gomes got his first goal in Old Gold mid-way through the first half as he capitialised on a James Justin mistake.
Matheus Cunha increased Wolves’ lead just before half-time with an accurate finish in off the post.
In the second period, Pereira’s side ensured they controlled the proceedings as they saw out a vital win on the road.
While fans may have had their reservations about the appointment, the performance against Leciester has led to many supporters to already deliver a verdict on the Portuguese manager.

Wolves fans in love with Vitor Pereira after slamdunk victory vs Leicester

Pereira’s appointment as Wolves manager was no doubt as surprise to many. Graham Potter and David Moyes had previously been touted for the Old Gold job.
However, it was the Al Shabab manager who came in with a questionable CV.
Yet, any reservations that fans had about the manager were quickly blown away at the King Power Stadium. Fans could be heard signing Pereira’s name vs Leicester as they picked up a vital win.
Now, supporters quickly took to X, formerly Twitter, to express their delight with Pereira.
The performance was certainly eye-catching as they blitzed through the Foxes.
Some fans even joked about a return to Europe after the club secured a dominant victory over their relegation rivals.
A dream start for Vitor Pereira at Wolves

While many Wolves fans would have been hopeful of a victory, few would have predicted how the game played out.
The 3-0 win was not flattering to the visitors and they could have easily scored more in the second period with Joao Gomes going close twice.
In comparison to the previous performances against Everton and Ipswich, Wolves looked a completely different side despite Pereira being at the club for less than a week.
Confidence from the players seems to be returning as they face another crucial game on Boxing Day vs Man United.
A week ago, relegation looked all but certain, however, in less than a week Pereira has taken one big step towards survival.
