Wolves welcomed Liverpool to Molineux on Saturday afternoon.

Pedro Neto did all the hard work to set Hee-Chan Hwang up for a brilliant team goal to open the scoring.

Picking up the ball outside the box, Neto beat multiple Liverpool defenders including Joel Matip.

From here he pushed to the line and cut it across goal for his teammate who embraced the pass with open arms in front of a busy Molineux.

Ultimately it wasn’t enough for Wolves to get anything from the game as Liverpool scored two late goals to win 3-1, but huge positives to be taken.

Neto performs for Wolves

The online reaction to Pedro Neto’s latest assist this season was incredible as many finally gave him his flowers.

Posting on X, one Wolves associated journalist and fan wrote: “Absolutely superb from Pedro Neto!! This is the player we’ve missed!!”

A club fan account also raved about his dribble and assist to set the goal for for Hwang, as they said: “UNREAL FROM NETO!”

A clip that went viral during the game was when Neto took a brilliant touch, before nutmegging Joe Gomez.

On this one fan posted: “Pedro Neto, I’m lost for words.”

Positive signs for Wolves

Watching this game, it would be impossible to tell that one side were title contenders and the other were among the relegation favourites.

Wolves once again held their own and were unlucky not to grab all three points.

While disappointing, there are really positive signs in this performance for Wolves.

Gary O’Neil is on the right tracks, and if Neto continues to perform like this, there is a bright future ahead.
