Wolves fans are all in agreement about Ki-Jana Hoever vs Burnley after surprise start

Vitor Pereira’s team selection raised a few eyebrows when Ki-Jana Hoever took the right-back position over Jackson Tchatchoua.

Matt Doherty was nowhere to be seen in the Wolves squad, but with the Irishman out of the frame, the Cameroonian seemed like the most plausible option.

Hoever had not featured for the Old Gold for almost two months before he was given an appearance off the bench against Sunderland.

There was certainly intrigue about Ki-Jana Hoever’s involvement, and his performance was always going to be analysed quite heavily.

His last start against Manchester City divided Wolves fans, but this time, there was an overwhelming agreement.

Wolves fans not impressed with Ki-Jana Hoever

Wolves’ early defensive struggles led the Molineux faithful to chant against the owners, but despite Vitor Pereira’s side pulling themselves back into the match, a last-minute winner by Burnley would send the Molineux faithful home disappointed.

Ultimately, the home side simply had to win this match and are still without a win after nine Premier League games.

Pereira will no doubt receive criticism for his decision to start Ki-Jana Hoever over Jackson Tchatchoua as fans were not best pleased with the player’s display.

Overall, the defender was not too bad in the defensive side of things in comparison to his teammates, but his attacking play left a lot to be desired.

One Wolves fan said, “Genuine question. Has a player ever offered less than Ki-Jana Hoever? Offers nothing going forward and caught out constantly at the back.”

With another stating, “Hoever sucking the life out of any attack.”

A different fan jokingly said, “Hoever couldn’t pass the parcel at a kids’ birthday party.”

With one supporter stating, “Poor kid Hoever is way out of his depth; he shouldn’t be anywhere near the squad, let alone the first 11.”

Another Old Gold fan said, “I really like Hoever, but he is so, so weak, and it’s a shame because he gets into good places.”

Finally, what this Wolves fan said highlighted the issue: “Don’t think I’ve seen a worse crosser of the ball in Hoever.”

Jackson Tchatchoua’s first cross showed Vitor Pereira got it wrong

Ki-Jana Hoever attempted six crosses against Burnley, but the fullback did not find a single Wolves player with any of them.

In comparison, Jackson Tchatchoua’s first cross, just two minutes after coming on, found the head of Jorgen Strand Larsen.

In just thirteen minutes, plus the added five, the Cameroonian completed the same number of crosses as the man who started ahead of him, but the former Hellas Verona player had three successful.

Vitor Pereira got it completely wrong on the day, especially when Burnley are weak at preventing chances from crossing.
