Wolves confirmed XI vs Man United, Ladislav Krejci starts as Rob Edwards makes two changes

Wolves are taking on Manchester United tonight at Molineux, and the starting XI has just been released.

The Old Gold are once again seeking to get their first win of the season in the Premier League, with United hoping to prolong the suffering for the hosts.

It’s a first return to Molineux for Matheus Cunha, who left Wolves to join the Red Devils in a £62.5 million deal early in the summer.

Rob Edwards will be hoping the Brazilian’s influence is kept to an absolute minimum, and that his side produce a much better performance than against Nottingham Forest last week.

Wolves are protesting against Fosun tonight, with many entering the game after 15 minutes.

But the vast majority are still firmly behind Edwards and the team, and now the team news is in.

Given the atrocious performance against Forest last week, it was inevitable that Edwards would make some changes. But he actually only makes two tonight.

Joao Gomes was one we knew would happen, with the Brazilian suspended. But Edwards has made just one more on top.

In goal, Sam Johnstone starts once again. He is protected by a back three of Yerson Mosquera – who may have to deal with CunhaEmmanuel Agbadou and Toti Gomes.

At wing-back, Ki-Jana Hoever comes in for Jackson Tchatchoua on the right, in the first of two changes. David Moller Wolfe keeps his place on the left.

Andre is in the midfield, and he’s partnered by Ladislav Krejci, who returns to the side after missing the last two through injury.

Jorgen Strand Larsen is supported by Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Jhon Arias.

Jose Sa, Hugo Bueno, Santiago Bueno, Hwang Hee-chan, Tolu Arokodare, Tawanda Chirewa, Jackson Tchatchoua, Mateus Mane and Fer Lopez – back from injury like Krejci – make up the bench.

Wolves must try and replicate level shown vs Aston Villa

Wolves’ performance against Forest was nowhere near good enough and a huge improvement is needed tonight.

Edwards did not brush over the display, so hopefully he will be seeing a response.

Wolves played well against Villa and were very unlucky to come away with nothing in that game. If the players can turn in a performance similar, then they will have a chance.

But of course, the biggest thing tonight will be for Wolves to try and be clinical.

United – like Wolves – have kept just one Premier League clean sheet this season. So that defence is there to be got at.

Edwards wants to see bravery, and that is what they must show.
