Wolves confirmed XI to face Man United, Jhon Arias one of two changes as young trio make bench

Wolves return to Premier League action tonight against Manchester United, and it’s the final game of 2025.

It has been a dismal season for the Old Gold, who are still waiting for their first win of the campaign after taking just two points from 18 matches so far.

The arrival of Rob Edwards has not had the desired impact so far in terms of results and he will be desperate to get three points in Wolves’ final game of the calendar year to set the tone for 2026.

It may well already be too little, too late for Wanderers. But victory at Old Trafford again would certainly do wonders for the mood.

And in the last moments, Wolves’ starting XI for tonight’s game has been confirmed.

Rob Edwards has made two changes this evening, with Jhon Arias and Jackson Tchatchoua replacing Andre and Santiago Bueno.

Andre, of course, is suspended, while Hoever drops to the bench.

Interestingly, on the bench there are a few youngsters, with Temple Ojinnaka, Ethan Sutherland and Saheed Olagunju all hoping to make their first-team debuts at some point this evening.

Wolves urged to not be open

Ahead of tonight’s game, Dave Edwards called for Wolves to not be as open as they were in the reverse fixture a few weeks ago.

Wolves were still in the game at half-time after Jean-Ricner Bellegarde equalised, but United then coasted to victory courtesy of some frankly awful defending from the hosts.

Edwards said: “There are big open spaces at Old Trafford, so there will be huge opportunities on the counter-attack and Wolves have to make the most of it. They have to stay in the game early on and not be as open as what they were against United and Molineux.”

If Wolves can stay in this game for a lot longer, unease will set in and hopefully this will lead to some decent openings.
