Wolves exited this competition at the fifth round last season, losing 2-0 to Southampton.

Lage has talked up the competition ahead of today’s game, and it would be fantastic to see Wolves have a real go this year.

Confidence should be high after Monday’s cracking result and performance.

But who is playing in today’s ‘Morgan Gibbs-White Derby’? Well, the team news is now in…

Team news: Fabio Silva starts as Bruno Lage names starting XI to face Sheffield United

As expected, Lage has made a number of changes to the side that starting against Manchester United.

John Ruddy comes into replace Jose Sa in goal, as he typically does for cup games.

Conor Coady and Max Kilman start once again, with the duo being joined by Fernando Marcal. He shifts across to left centre-back to cover Romain Saiss, who is on AFCON duty with Morocco.

Dion Sanderson is on the bench after being recalled from his loan spell with Birmingham City. As is Ryan Giles after Wolves recalled him from Cardiff City.

Nelson Semedo keeps his place at right wing-back, and Rayan Ait-Nouri features on the left.

In midfield, Ruben Neves partners up with Leander Dendoncker, with Joao Moutinho earning a rest.

In attack, young Fabio Silva is starting in place of Raul Jimenez, who is rotated to the bench.

The teenager is supported by Adama Traore and Daniel Podence.

Today is a big chance for Silva, who had a bright cameo against United. There has been some talk about him heading out on loan somewhere this month, so it’s a golden opportunity for him to prove himself a suitable back-up for Jimenez.

To summarise, there are five changes to the side that beat United. Out go Sa, Saiss, Moutinho, Trincao and Jimenez. And in come Ruddy, Ait-Nouri, Dendoncker, Traore and Silva.
