Michael Owen has criticised Wolverhampton Wanderers after their loss to Brentford, while Ian Wright has slammed Marcal.
The BT Sport pundit, who was appearing on the Premier League Productions’ ‘Post Match Analysis’ show has said that Wolves ‘never looked like scoring’ against Brentford.
He said: “Brentford didn’t look under pressure, Wolves never looked like scoring.”
Brentford did not have such problems, having scored two goals by half time.
In the second half the visitors were reduced to 10 men at Molineux after Shandon Baptiste was sent off for a second yellow card.
Despite the one-man advantage, Wolves still could not test the Bees goalkeeper David Raya.
It will be a concern for Bruno Lage.
The Wolves boss will be hoping that they can find their goalscoring touch again after their two goals against Watford.
Ian Wright criticises Marcal
Also on the post-match analysis was former Arsenal striker Ian Wright.
He spoke about Marcal’s foul on Ivan Toney which led to Brentford’s penalty for their first goal. It came from a corner after the Brazilian pulled down the striker.
Wright said that if he were Lage, then he would be seething with the defender’s role in the penalty.
The Match of the Day 2 pundit said: “If I am the manager I would be really digging out Marcal, I would be seething.”
There will be question marks over Marcal’s place in the team after his display for Wolves yesterday.
His alternative is Rayan Ait-Nouri, who is yet to start a game in the league for the club this season.
Next up is Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao cup, Wolves must avoid making the same mistakes.
