Gary O’Neil has confirmed that Wolves defender Yerson Mosquera is due to make the squad to face Brentford.
Wolves open their FA Cup campaign on Friday night in a replay of one of Old Gold’s impressive wins in recent weeks.
Brentford await Gary O’Neil‘s side here however it’s a game which Wolves will be seriously confident about considering the recent 4-1 win over the Bees.
Wolves are on a three-game winning run with the previous two being won by three-goal margins. But here in the FA Cup, there is every chance that there are some rotations.
This could see some fringe players finally receive some minutes in the team, and potentially some youngsters get their chance to impress.
It could also see a recently returned ‘brilliant‘ ace in action.

Yerson Mosquera should be given his chance
Recently returned from his loan spell in the United States, Yerson Mosquera is back and according to O’Neil is set to be in the squad against Brentford.
“He’ll be in the squad (to play Brentford),” manager O’Neil said according to Express and Star.
“He’s trained well. We haven’t done loads of big stuff this week, so there hasn’t really been an opportunity to see him in an 11v11.”
With Wolves playing a back three, centre-half options are quite thin and the option of having Mosquera on form to understudy Max Kilman or Toti Gomes could be quality.
But he will have to impress O’Neil into not sending him back on loan – as ‘more than half’ the championship target moves – and if he is given a chance here that’s exactly what he could do.
Mosquera should stay at Wolves
Over reliance on the three starting defenders could inevitably come back to bite Wolves and so having Mosquera along with Santiago Bueno in the squad is vital.
Keeping him until the season ends could be important in gauging where he is in development after a spell away.
This could then be evaluated in the summer, but right now he deserves his chance to impress.
