What Wolves players on the bench ‘instantly’ did to Vitor Pereira as the final whistle blew vs West Ham

Wolves have gone 12 points clear of the relegation zone, after a huge 1-0 win over West Ham United at Molineux.

Vitor Pereira’s side are in a very healthy position now, after Jorgen Strand Larsen again came in clutch for the hosts.

The number nine scored in the first-half, and Wolves played some great stuff.

But after some changes from Graham Potter at the break, the game became much more difficult for Wolves, who lost all rhythm.

It was a real scrap at times. But Wolves managed to get over the line – and there were some brilliant scenes at the end.

Tonight’s game was very much one of two halves.

Wolves were in complete control, but the lack of a second goal made the second-half uncomfortable for the hosts.

Marshall Munetsi could have changed the game had he turned in a chance in the first-half, but he hit the crossbar from close range.

But thankfully, Wolves saw the job through – and there was real relief at the end.

And it was clear to see how significant this result was from the scenes as referee Tony Harrington blew his whistle to signal full-time.

Journalist Liam Keen reported that the Wolves players on the bench ‘instantly’ mobbed Pereira as soon as the win was confirmed by the referee.

Pereira then proceeded to whip up the supporters into a frenzy at Molineux, as his emotions completely spilled over.

Pereira passion is perfect

Wolves were brilliant in the first-half tonight, but not so good in the second.

But the only thing that matters at this stage is results – and Pereira is delivering.

And that passion of his is wonderful to see, and it’s clear to see that these Wolves players absolutely love him already.

And the Wolves fans feel that way too, especially after the comments Pereira made about going for pints with supporters and being one of them.

This was a significant result tonight, and one more win this weekend against Ipswich Town will pretty much seal the deal for Wolves in terms of staying up
