There have been doubts creeping in over recent weeks about Rob Edwards, but Wolves’ 3-0 win against West Ham should at least put those to bed for now.
In the last two games, the Old Gold have managed to accumulate four points from six, as there have been clear signs of life among the squad.
Mateus Mane in particular has earned plaudits, and the 18-year-old was in no doubt Wolves’ man-of-the-match.
Speaking after the match, Mane admitted the fans chanting his name boosted him, but he was not the only man sung about on the day.
WOW 😍. What is your message to Rob Edwards after that performance, Wolves fans?
The classic Hugo-Santi Bueno song could be heard at points as both defenders impressed spectators at Molineux.
Additionally, Nuno Espirito Santo’s name could also be heard among the noise at the ground, but after the 3-0 loss he may have mixed feelings about it.
Wolves fans chant for former manager Nuno Espirito Santo

Nuno Espirito Santo will always be fondly remembered at Wolves for the work he did, and fans continue to display their appreciation at every possible moment.
The former Wanderers manager has typically had a good record against his previous employers since leaving the club in 2021. This was his first loss against Wolves in five fixtures.
When Wolves went 2-0 up against West Ham, chants aimed at Hammers boss Nuno Espirito Santo could be heard, but they were not in any way inflammatory or against the former Old Gold chief.
Renditions of ‘Nuno had a dream’ (as per Express and Star) could be heard from the jubilant fans who had finally overseen a Premier League win this season.
Additionally, the Molineux faithful chanted, “Nuno Espirito Santo, he’s one of our own.”
Where do you rank Nuno Espirito Santo among former Wolves managers?
Surely he has to be near the top 💭
While the current West Ham manager will not be happy with the result, particularly with his job at the London club on the line, he might be appreciative of the fact he still holds such a big reputation in Wolverhampton.
Time to kick on for Rob Edwards at Wolves
For the current Wolves manager, this is the moment he has needed. Wolves have finally been rewarded for a strong performance, and they have got over their run of games without a win.
The Old Gold, and Rob Edwards, must continue that against Everton on Wednesday. A victory in that fixture would put them on nine points and bring them closer to avoiding the tag of the worst-ever Premier League side.
Additionally, it would put the Wanderers in much better stead in the relegation battle.
If all things go well, and results fall their way, the Old Gold could just be nine points off safety. Teams in England’s top flight have survived with much worse odds and larger gaps.
Perhaps, there is still hope left.
