Vitor Pereira impresses in first Premier League game
It took Wolves only 19 minutes to get Pereira’s reign off the mark, as Guedes put the Old Gold ahead.
The forward was joined on the scoresheet by Cunha and Gomes, who also starred on a memorable day for the Midlands side.
After the lows of Wolves’ defeat to Ipswich Town, fans were finally handed a performance to be proud of from the players, who ensured Pereira left Leicester smiling.
Three points will be celebrated by Pereira, as Wolves moved just two points from safety however, the victory stood for a lot more.
That is because, for the first time since December 30th 2023, Wolves scored three or more goals and kept a clean sheet in the Premier League.
The last time such was achieved was against Everton 358 days ago, telling of just how impressive the Wolves squad were against the Foxes.
A clean sheet, three points and three goals capped off a stellar day for the Old Gold, who will be joyous of the improvement already seen under Pereira.
Wolves’ game management against Leicester deserves applause
While Wolves’ ability to remain calm under O’Neil was weak, the squad showed a vastly improved approach with Pereira at the helm.
After scoring three times in the first half, there was naturally some concern that a win couldn’t be celebrated until the full-time whistle however, there were no nerves on show after the interval.
First half | Second half | |
Goals | 3 | 0 |
Expected goals | 0.41 | 0.65 |
Big chances | 1 | 1 |

Such is evident through the Old Gold’s numbers, as Pereira’s squad didn’t take their foot off the gas just because they were ahead, which was a breath of fresh air.
It was a memorable afternoon for all associated with Wolves, as the new boss got off to an impressive start.
