What Heung-min Son has ‘jokingly told’ Hwang Hee-chan ahead of Spurs v Wolves clash

Spurs sensation Son Heung-min has shared his thoughts on his international teammate Hwang Hee-chan ahead of Wolves’ visit to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Saturday

Wolves are back in action on Saturday afternoon as Gary O’Neil’s side prepare for a trip to the capital to face Spurs in the Premier League.

The Old Gold will be hoping that they can replicate the result from the matchup between the two sides at Molineux in November, where two injury-time goals sealed three points.

It’s set to be a great challenge for the visitors on Saturday, particularly without the help of their in-form striker Matheus Cunha who has suffered a ‘significant injury’ to his hamstring.

Luckily for Wolves, Hwang Hee-chan is set to return to action for the first time in 2024 after missing all of January’s fixtures due to his participation at the Asia Cup.

Hwang Hee-chan will be a huge boost for Wolves

Just as fans thought they’d see the club’s top scorer in the Premier League this season return, it was revealed that he was nursing a slight calf injury, seeing him absent for last week’s clash with Brentford.

Wolves struggled to create and put away their chances without the energy of both Hwang and Cunha up front, something that will be half-solved on Saturday as the Korean returned to training.

Having netted 10 Premier League goals, the 28-year-old has shown great confidence in the final third this term, with his statistics showing that he is one of the most deadly forwards in the league

Being able to have Hwang’s presence back in the front line will have Wolves fans overjoyed, although not everyone is happy to learn of his return.

What Son Heung-min said about Hwang Hee-chan

On Saturday, Hwang will come up against his international teammate, Son Heung-min, who doesn’t seem to be too excited to line up against the Wolves whiz.

When speaking to Korean media in a video press conference, Son shared some parts of his conversations with his South Korean teammate.

“I spoke with Hee-chan yesterday about how he feels, and he said he is not 100 percent ready.”

“I didn’t ask him about anything in detail as we are on different teams, and we have to keep some things secret.”

Earlier today, the Wolves media posted an image of the 28-year-old returning to training to make worries about his fitness disappear, which will not come as good news to Son.

The Spurs dynamo admitted that he had joked with Hwang over his fitness, encouraging the forward to take a rest against his club on Saturday.

“As he is a player that could be a great threat to our team, I jokingly told him to take a rest if he feels unwell.”

When reviewing the two sides, both Korean representatives will be ones to watch in what is poised to be an exciting fixture between two impressive squads.
