What Andre did at full-time after making Wolves debut against Nottingham Forest

Wolves are still waiting for their first win of the season after picking up a point against Nottingham Forest.

The Old Gold got a point on the board for the first time in the 2024/25 Premier League, with a draw salvaged by Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

Gary O’Neil will be impressed with the rarely-seen Frenchman, who netted Wolves’ first-half equaliser in remarkable style.

On the one hand, the visitors will be relieved to have earned a result after starting the campaign with two defeats although, it was a lacklustre display from both sides at the City Ground.

Andre makes Wolves debut in Nottingham Forest draw

Aside from Bellegarde’s goal, another positive to take from the afternoon in Nottingham was a first sighting of Andre

The Brazilian was unveiled as a Wolves player on deadline day, arriving from Fluminense after perfecting his craft in his homeland.

As expected after making the journey from Brazil to England, the 23-year-old didn’t play a significant part in the game however, he was still able to make an impact.

Reporting live from the fixture, journalist Steve Madeley commented on one thing that Andre did at full-time with the away supporters at the City Ground.

“Andre the last Wolves player down the tunnel after taking the acclaim of the travelling fans.”

The Brazil international was introduced in the 86th minute, where he completed one tackle, won one duel and misplaced only one pass, via Sofascore, in a cameo that Madeley described as ‘decent’.

Andre has the potential to be a huge part of Gary O’Neil’s success

Capturing Andre’s signature late on deadline day was an impressive feat by Matt Hobbs, who lured the Fluminense star to the Midlands.

The Brazilian is highly rated in Brazil, where his combative and distributional strengths in midfield are celebrated.

It will be interesting to see how the 23-year-old gels with his countryman Joao Gomes in the middle of the park, in what could become a pivot for the ages at Molineux.

The early signs of Andre are positive, with his bright cameo and appreciation towards the fans getting his Wolves career off to a good start.
