Wolves beat West Ham United 1-0 yesterday – and Aaron Cresswell has moved to praise Bruno Lage’s side.
It is now five wins from the last seven matches for Wolves.
Arguably, this win was the best of the season so far.
Lage’s side created lots of chances and looked good in possession.
There was also some real defensively solidity, as has been the case for large parts of the season so far.
The victory will have been especially sweet for the players, with West Ham doing the double over Wolves last season.
One man who played in both those games, and yesterday’s, was Aaron Cresswell, who gave a positive verdict on Wolves after the game.
He said: “We found it really frustrating. I thought we had a good spell for the first 15, 20 minutes, but after that, credit to Wolves – they played some fantastic stuff and we couldn’t really get going.”
It’s starting to click for Wolves under Lage
Wolves are undoubtedly heading in the right direction.
There have been some bumps along the way, and there will continue to be.
But there are constantly positive signs about the team under Lage.
As £50,000-a-week star Cresswell said, Wolves played some fantastic stuff at times, and West Ham – one of the Premier League’s form teams right now – just weren’t able to play their own game as a result.
As has been said plenty of times already, there is potential for this to be a really good season if the manager is backed by his superiors in January.
