Vitor Pereira reveals halftime message that inspired Wolves’ comeback against Ipswich

Wolves beat Ipswich on away soil to make their chances of staying in the Premier League even better.

Wolves’ 2-1 win over Ipswich on Saturday afternoon saw the side improve to three consecutive league wins.

The Old Gold weren’t at their best for the whole match though…

Vitor Pereira reveals what he told Wolves at halftime against Ipswich

Liam Delap opened the scoring early in the game after Jose Sa’s poor positioning allowed him an easy strike on goal.

The Tractor Boys had hopes of holding out for the remaining 75 minutes but a much better second half showing from Wolves made their task impossible.

Pablo Sarabia equalised against Ipswich after less than 10 minutes of being on the Portman Road pitch before Strand Larsen improved his goalscoring record to four in his last three appearances with an 84th-minute winner.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Pereira explained what changes he demanded his team make, emphasising the side’s need to improve their quickness and forward pressing.

Good tactical advice which proved to be the difference in the end.

Nearly time for survival celebrations

Although Wolves are now everyone’s favourites to stay up at the expense of Ipswich and Leicester City, Pereira will know he can’t take his foot off the gas until survival is mathematically certain.

Wolves, like Ipswich, still have seven league games to play, including a tough away game against defending champions Manchester City at the start of May.

The Old Gold need to pick up another 13 points to guarantee their place in the Premier League next season.

Next up is a date with Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs at Molineux on Sunday.
