Wolves suffered yet another Premier League defeat after losing at home against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.
Before the match, the Old Gold were not expected to take anything off Mikel Arteta’s Gunners.
Hope was offered to the home team during the match though. Myles Lewis-Skelly was shown a straight red card for a poor tackle on Matt Doherty in the first half.
Wolves couldn’t take advantage before Joao Gomes was also sent off, though.

Vitor Pereira responds to Joao Gomes’ red card against Arsenal
The Brazilian midfielder received a second yellow in the second half for a challenge made on Jurrien Timber.
Substitute Riccardo Calafiori then scored the only goal of the game with 15 minutes to play.

Vitor Pereira, who faced the media after the full-time whistle, gave his thoughts and admitted Joao Gomes’ ’emotional’ decision changed the outcome of the match.
“Gives 100 per cent, he’s emotional but in the end, in a second it can happen,” he told reporters. “The Joao Gomes red was the turning point in the game, it was our best period.
“We cannot compare this game with the game vs Chelsea. Chelsea, we were reacting, today we played as a team. The result doesn’t reflect what happened on the pitch.”
Joao Gomes out of Aston Villa clash
Even though Pereira will feel disheartened his Wolves side were unable to take anything from Arsenal, there is little time to lick his wounds.
Next up for the Old Gold is a mouth-watering Midlands derby against Aston Villa.
Joao Gomes’ red card means he will now serve a suspension, but receiving two yellow cards instead of a straight red means he will miss just the one match — unlike Arsenal’s Lewis-Skelly, who will be out for three.
Joao Gomes won’t feature against Villa but will be able to return to face Blackburn in the FA Cup the week after before travelling to take on Liverpool on February 16th.
