Wolves cruised to a unbelievable 4-1 victory away to Fulham as the club eased their relegation fears.
Wolves produced their performance of the season as they came back from 1-0 down to demolish Fulham 4-1 at Craven Cottage.
Despite Alex Iwobi scoring his traditional goal against the Old Gold, the visitors – led by Matheus Cunha’s genius – masterfully came back to secure their first away victory since February.
Mario Lemina’s pass cut open the Fulham defence in the first half, which allowed Cunha to chip the ‘keeper for a quick equaliser.
In the second period, Cunha then became the provider as he slipped in Joao Gomes to give the visitors the lead.
Fulham were reduced to 10 players late on as Marco Silva had already made all five substitutions when Joachim Andersen was forced off with an injury.
Wolves took advantage of this and finished the game in style as Cunha netted a wondergoal in the 87th minute before substitute Goncalo Guedes added a fourth in stoppage time.
Now, looking back on the result, Molineux News has highlighted three things we learnt from the clash.

Matheus Cunha is a world-class attacker

It probably goes without saying but Cunha could get into any Premier League team’s starting XI.
When the visitors went 1-0 down, the fans looked towards one man and he no doubt delivered. Not only was his chip excellently taken but it completely shifted the tide of the match in Wolves’ favour.
From here, Cunha proceeded to dominate the field, with everything going through the attacker.
On top of picking up another assist, he then proceeded to smash an incredible goal in the top corner to make it 3-1.
Wolves fans have been able to see many sensational players over the years and Cunha is easily one of the best.
Joao Gomes is Wolves’ most underrated player this season

Another player who had another incredible game was Joao Gomes. The midfielder covered every blade of grass in the tie and was active both defensively and offensively.
However, it is his attacking ability that will no doubt get headlines as he scored and assisted in two crucial periods of the game.
While his goal was no doubt well taken, his desire to win the ball back and slide it into Cunha for Wolves’ third could be one of the most important passages of play at the club this season.
Gomes has often been overlooked this season due to the club’s poor position. However, in recent matches, he has really stepped up and is now showing the form that he had in the last campaign.
Pressure is easing on Gary O’Neil

Gary O’Neil was no doubt still under immense pressure going into the match. It had been reported that Wolves had held talks over potential replacements for O’Neil during the break.
Therefore, the Fulham match could well have seen him sacked if another poor performance and result was produced.
Things looked poor early on as multiple injuries to the visitor’s backline forced Lemina to play at centre-back.
However, O’Neil guided his side to their best performance all season as they demolished Fulham in their own backyard.
The Wolves manager got his tactics spot-on, especially in the second period where the Old Gold could have netted more goals.
Now, with the club out of the relegation zone, O’Neil needs to ensure his side kick on and quickly move away from the bottom three.
