Wolves have been in action against Celtic today as they continue their pre-season preparations in Dublin at the Aviva Stadium.
Scoring was opened by Celtic in the first half with Kyogo Furuhashi putting them ahead with a brilliant finish.
In the second half late on, Matheus Cunha was the man to salvage a draw for Wolves from the spot.
Ultimately Wolves improved as the game went on, but we look nowhere near the eighth place finish that Matheus Nunes has hinted at targeting.
The game finished at 1-1, here are three things we learned…

Cunha shouldn’t be playing striker
One huge issue that became evident through the game against Celtic, is Wolves must stop trying to play Cunha up front.
The Brazilian struggled terribly as a number nine, and was a non fixture until his move deeper into midfield.
He looked so much more comfortable linking up with the midfield while there rather than when they had him as a nine.
He even managed to grab a late goal after his striker burden was removed, he and the side drastically improved once he moved further back, and a forward came on.
A mobile defender needed
The game saw Wolves look vulnerable against the Scottish champions, playing a high line which continuously left them exposed at the back.
Playing a high line with slow defenders is just asking for trouble, so it seems ludicrous to insist on doing so.
Julen Lopetegui needs to either figure out an alternative system to play, or try to bring in a defender who has the recovery pace to protect the side.
Lots of work to do
With the Premier League opener against Manchester United little over two weeks away, there is a lot of work to be done.
Old Gold need to search around for some cheap options to improve this squad as we are concerned.
A striker is an absolute must in this team, with options at the club as well, the system needs to change to allow them to play.
