The Wolves player who was apparently ‘booed by his own fans’ during draw with Man United

Wolves picked up the third point of their Premier League campaign away at Manchester United, as Ladislav Krejci’s equaliser proved enough.

It was a game that Wolves so easily could have won. Ladislav Krejci went close to grabbing a second, and Yerson Mosquera just couldn’t turn in the rebound.

There were some positive performances to shout about, too. Jhon Arias had his best game in a Wolves shirt, whilst Hugo Bueno and Mateus Mane looked assured.

It’s a step in the right direction, but wins are what matter given the current position.

The switch to three attackers certainly served Wolves well. They looked more positive in attack and provided more of a threat, despite Hwang Hee-chan disappointing at times.

And we discovered that Tolu Arokodare has to lead the line moving forward, as Jorgen Strand Larsen just couldn’t replicate what the Nigerian did after coming on.

Jorgen Strand Larsen apparently booed by Wolves fans at Old Trafford

Jorgen Strand Larsen may have played one of his last games for Wolves, as rumours have emerged of a potential move in the January transfer window.

Crystal Palace and West Ham have taken a liking to the Norwegian, but Wolves have put a £40 million price tag on his head.

It appears as if Wolves fans have been keeping track of his situation, as Ellen White claims she heard Wolves fans boo the striker onto the field at Old Trafford.

Ellen White stated, as per BBC live blog.

“He didn’t get a great reception when he came on. He was booed by his own fans. In the summer it was a case of was he leaving or was he not? And you could see that in his performances.”

There may have been a few boos, but it’s hard to know if they were about the striker or more Arokodare coming off, as Wolves fans could also be heard singing Strand Larsen’s name.

Do you think Jorgen Strand Larsen has downed tools this season?

Perhaps the failed summer move is still on his mind…

Are Wolves playing to Jorgen Strand Larsen’s strengths?

There’s an argument to be had that Wolves perhaps aren’t giving Strand Larsen the service he needs to score goals in the Premier League.

Matheus Cunha’s creativity played a big part in the success of the striker last season. In the current campaign, he’s been feeding off scraps at times.

However, he also hasn’t helped himself. The Norwegian has looked like he’s almost downed tools at times and struggles to even hold up the ball, which wasn’t an issue last season.

Arokodare has appeared much more energetic and gets into better positions; he just lacks that prolific touch that we know Strand Larsen has.

Perhaps the thought of a move away in January is playing a part.
