Wolves have sealed their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup after beating Blackburn Rovers 2-0 at Ewood Park.
Vitor Pereira’s side were victorious against the Championship side, with Joao Gomes and Matheus Cunha on target for the visitors.
Wolves took a while to hit their stride in the game, and got slightly lucky with an offside call which ruled a goal by Blackburn out midway through the first-half. BBC co-commentator Chris Sutton branded that offside decision in Wolves’ favour a ‘shocker’.
But Joao Gomes put Wolves ahead, and Cunha then doubled Wolves’ lead just seconds later after a lovely ball through by Semedo.
It was a very positive day for Wolves and there were several fantastic individual performances.
Cunha was back to somewhere near his best for Wolves – and one statistic has just emerged about the talismanic number 10.
The most amazing Matheus Cunha statistic has emerged after Wolves’ FA Cup win over Blackburn

Cunha is back in the goals now.
Last weekend he scored against Aston Villa after a mini-drought and today he was on target against Blackburn, providing a fine finish across the goalkeeper.
Cunha was recently criticised by fans for his performance against Chelsea for looking disinterested.
And after that game, Pereira even called out Cunha for his body language.
But today he was bang at it, and there is one statistic that shows just how involved he was.
As per Opta, Cunha today became the first player from Europe’s big-five leagues to both have 5+ shots on target (5) and make 5+ tackles (7) in a game this season.”
In further information provided by Sofascore, Cunha also contested a highly impressive 19 duels – the most of any player in the game-winning nine.
Matheus Cunha is back
This is a seriously impressive statistic from Cunha given no other player across Europe’s top five leagues has managed to achieve the feat.
There have been question marks at times regarding his defending and work rate.
But it really did feel he was involved in everything today or Wolves and this stat rather proves it.
Gary O’Neil and Vitor Pereira both challenged Cunha to improve off the ball and the Brazilian seems to be doing that.
Pereira will be especially delighted with this statistic if he catches wind of it after questioning the player’s body language.
Hopefully, Cunha will turn in these kinds of performances on a regular basis in the Premier League going forward.
