Some Wolves players are still waiting to commence their summer breaks, one of which is Rodrigo Gomes.
Gomes is currently at the U21 European Championships with Portugal U21, making Rui Jorge’s squad for the tournament.
The Wolves fullback had an impressive debut season with the Old Gold after arriving in the West Midlands last summer from SC Braga.
Vitor Pereira is an admirer of Gomes, perhaps even more so now after the 21-year-old’s latest display for his country.

Rodrigo Gomes earns praise after scoring for Portugal U21
After drawing their opening game of the tournament against France U21, Portugal recorded their first win with a statement victory over Poland.
Portugal U21 beat Poland U21 5-0, with Gomes on target during the contest after coming on from the bench.
Manager Jorge welcomed the Wolves star into the game at half-time, and just 18 minutes into his cameo, Gomes found the back of the net in style.
The 21-year-old finished off a sublime move from Portugal U21, a passage of play that earned high praise from Jorge at full-time.
When asked about the standout performances of Geovany Quenda and Roger Fernandes, Jorge decided to focus his response on Gomes’ goal.
“They are two great players, but the whole team thinks as a team. Our last goal is brilliant in every way,” he said, via Mais Futebol.
“The way it was executed and the mentality behind it. Any of them could have wanted to score, because the visibility of who scores is always different, but what we saw there was waiting for the right moment to pass the ball to the teammate who was better positioned.”

Jorge went on to name Gomes when applauding how well connected his team are, celebrating a brilliantly worked goal that unfolded from his players.
“That reflects a lot of what our team is like. It’s the same whether Quenda, Rodrigo Gomes or Carlos Forbs play, because they will understand each other in the same way. The situation is the same in midfield.”
Former Wolves loanee, Carlos Forbs, was also introduced off the bench, as he looks to impress to map out his next steps after leaving Molineux.

Wolves target Roger Fernandes stood out for Portugal U21
Forbs wasn’t the only player alongside Gomes that Wolves fans would’ve taken notice of during the game.
Wolves target Roger Fernandes was one of the best performers in the contest, as, before being replaced by Gomes, he recorded two assists by wreaking havoc on the left side.
As mentioned, Jorge was prompted to single Fernandes out for praise during the game, as the Braga winger left Poland shellshocked.
Portugal U21 are a team to watch from a Wolves point of view, with both current and former players, as well as transfer targets, on show for all to see.
