Rob Edwards gives Ladislav Krejci injury update as Wolves face quick turnaround to Nottingham Forest

Wolves will dust themselves down from the defeat against Aston Villa ready to take on Nottingham Forest in midweek, and Rob Edwards has given an update on Ladislav Krejci.

Wolves fell to a 1-0 defeat at Villa Park, and were made to pay for not taking chances.

Boubacar Kamara scored for the hosts in the second-half, after Wolves squandered opportunities. There was also a very good performance from Emi Martinez in the Villa goal.

The latest loss means it’s no wins in 17 now for Wolves in the Premier League.

And to make matters worse, Rob Edwards has a new injury concern in the form of Ladislav Krejci, who was missing from the squad for Villa.

After the defeat, Edwards gave fans an update on the defender’s condition.

When Krejci’s name was missing from the teamsheet against Villa, many Wolves fans became worried.

As poor as the recruitment was in the summer, the signing of Krejci was a real win.

The Czech international has shown real consistency for the most-part this season, and had claimed the Player of the Month award twice.

Ahead of the Villa game, Liam Keen reported that Krejci had missed out due to a minor knee injury.

It's a quick turnaround with Nottingham Forest up next on Wednesday

And after the game, Keen reported that Edwards dropped an update in his post-match press conference, stating he was ‘hopeful’ Krejci would be available to face Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.

Surely if there is any chance he’ll be available then Edwards will look to restore him to the starting XI.

With the defence actually doing quite well against Villa though, one wonders if a midfield role may beckon for Krejci against Forest.

Wolves worse off without Krejci

There is little doubt that Wolves look a better side when Krejci plays.

The 26-year-old has the welcome combination of being a great ball player and an aggressive defender. And as we’ve seen, he’s also very versatile.

Hopefully, this minor knee injury will not keep him out against Nottingham Forest, which is another huge game for Wolves.

Some believe Wanderers are already toast. But the Forest game really is a must-win clash if Wanderers are to stand any chance of getting out of this mess.
