Predicted Wolves XI to face Brighton as Vitor Pereira goes all out for his first win

Wolves will be looking to build on some positive performances as they host Brighton on Sunday, still seeking a first win of the campaign.

Brighton have enjoyed trips to Molineux in recent seasons, but Vitor Pereira will be doing all he can to ruin the fun.

That involves picking the best starting line-up to take the game to Fabian Hurzeler’s side. We should see plenty of goals in this fixture, if recent history is anything to go by.

Pereira has done plenty of chopping and changing in recent fixtures, so predicting the line-up he will go with is a tall task, but one Molineux News is keen to have a go at.

Vitor Pereira goes with back four again vs Brighton

This is probably the biggest decision Pereira has to make ahead of Sunday’s clash.

He has started with a back four in the last two games, including away at Spurs, so we think he will stick with that. Sam Johnstone has started those two games after Jose Sa’s poor start to the season. He gets the nod again, but there are changes in front of him.

Emmanuel Agbadou and Ladislav Krejci should start this one. The Ivorian was dropped for the last two games, and rightfully so after some woeful performances. But we know what he can do, and he deserves a chance to start alongside one of Wolves’ in-form players, Krejci.

Hugo Bueno has been nothing short of spectacular this season so he holds his spot. On the opposite side, Jackson Tchatchoua should get a run from the start. They will have to be careful not to bomb on as frequently, though.

A perfectly balanced Wolves midfield three

If we are right about the formation, it could allow Pereira to again start the Brazilian duo of Joao Gomes and Andre, with Marshall Munetsi completing the three.

Munetsi is better-suited to a deeper role, and that setup in the middle of the park should bring Wolves success. Plenty of running, defending and that bit of creativity as well.

All new signings in the front line

In this 4-3-3 setup, Wolves have plenty of support in the middle of the park, so the forward line should be well-positioned to focus on creating chances.

Jhon Arias prefers to play out wide, and this formation would allow him that luxury. On the other side, Fer Lopez has shown creativity that has been otherwise lacking in the side, so his presence would be much-appreciated.

With Jorgen Strand Larsen still injured, it opens the door for Tolu Arokodare to start and hopefully open his Premier League account.

This side is well-balanced. You have Arias controlling the left flank, and Munetsi’s presence in midfield will allow Lopez to drift centrally. Munetsi can overlap, as can Tchatchoua. That could be a trio that causes Brighton problems.

It’s an attacking line-up, but one that tells the opposition that Wolves are going for the win.

Predicted XI vs Brighton: Johnstone; Tchatchoua, Agbadou, Krejci, Bueno; Andre, Gomes, Munetsi; Lopez, Tolu, Arias.
