Paul Merson makes his score prediction for Wolves vs Fulham and offers relegation verdict

Wolves are taking on Fulham in their latest Premier League match and head into tonight’s game with confidence.

Wolves picked up a huge win on Saturday, beating Bournemouth 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium.

Matheus Cunha scored the game’s only goal for Wolves, who capitalised on a red card for Illia Zabarnyi.

Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Danny Murphy felt Zabarnyi’s red card was harsh, but thankfully Wolves got the rub of the green, and made their advantage count.

It’s a quick turnaround for Wolves, who play Fulham tonight at Molineux.

And Paul Merson has now made his score prediction for the game.

Wolves are looking to do the double over Fulham, having won the reverse fixture 4-1 back in November.

That was a result and performance that really helped under-fire Gary O’Neil, but he only lasted a few more weeks in the job having been unable to build on the result.

It was the Matheus Cunha show last time out, as he scored twice and made an assist.

Marco Silva has talked Cunha up ahead of tonight’s game, and Wolves fans certainly hope their talisman produces the goods once more.

Predicting a 1-1 draw, he told Sportskeeda: “That win for Wolves against Bournemouth has virtually sealed their survival in the Premier League in my opinion. Fulham let themselves down against Crystal Palace last weekend. They are a better team than that and they got well beat in that game. If I was Fulham, I would have one eye on the FA Cup. I believe they have the team to go on a dream run in the competition.

“To be fair, Wolves showed they are a decent team during that game against Liverpool. They were unlucky to not come away with a point, but did show some promise against the league leaders. The sending off to Bournemouth helped them in the last game, however, there are no doubts that they are a decent team.
Matheus Cunha is the X-factor in that team and I have a feeling they can get something from this game. Another point would steer them further away from the bottom three.”

Wolves and Fulham head-to-head

Wolves come into tonight’s game with confidence after beating Bournemouth and going five points clear of the relegation zone.

But it will be a tricky contest, with Fulham enjoying another positive campaign under Marco Silva.

Another win for Wolves tonight under the lights at Molineux would be absolutely huge.

Gary Lineker feels the current three will be relegated, and a win for Wanderers tonight would make that a very strong possibility come the end of the season.

Wolves and Fulham have met 99 times, with Wolves having the edge in terms of the overall head-to-head.

Wolves have won 47 games, Fulham have won 27 and there have been 25 draws (via 11v11).
